I have worked as a translator for over ten years, and more recently I have started working with teaching English as a Foreign Language in two schools in Rio de Janeiro, Universidade Veiga de Almeida and Escola Superior Cândido Mendes. I always had a strong interest for Music, Art, and Literature, and that was the bridge that led me to the Celtic Culture. During my high school years in the United States I came in contact with authors that had strong Celtic influence, and among these J.R.R. Tolkien was one of my favorites, specially his posthumous book, The Silmarillion, published by his son Christopher. As I grew older, and Celtic music came to be a strong presence in the musical scenario, it grew in me the need to investigate the roots of such rich culture, one with such widespread influence: the Celts, their mythology and their cultural production. Now this interest has branched out into the translation of texts from these cultures into Portuguese.
Areas of Interest:
Mythology of ancient cultures, especially Greeks and Celts; Musical Production; Literature and Art; Linguistics
